SBDCs Investing In Business Banking Dialogue
Submitted by alfattal on 17 January, 2012 - 09:17.Over the last four weeks, Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs) in Babil, Karbala and Najaf held one day Business Banking Forums, bringing together representatives from provincial Banks, Chambers of Commerce, Iraqi Businessmen’s Union, SBDCs, business owners, lawyers and accountants to discuss challenges, constraints and recommendations for expanding banking services for Small and Medium Enterprises in Iraq.
WEO Launches Women Empowerment Radio in Erbil

Ministry Of Youth and Sports Awards IASD Training Contract

All of these firms are members of the Iraqi Association of Security Dealers (IASD) in Baghdad. The IASD also serves as a Small Business Development Center in Baghdad managing two training programs for individuals seeking to improve and to start their own businesses.
Income Generation for Widows Ceremony
Submitted by AHaleem on 18 September, 2011 - 13:20.Erbil’s Women Empowerment Organization (WEO) and representatives of the French Embassy held a graduation ceremony on 28 July 2011 at the Culture Center for participants of the “Income Generation for Widows” project in Khabat. The one year project is being funded by the French Embassy and is designed to provide income generating skills and business support for one hundred vulnerable widows in the Khabat District of Erbil Province.

Najaf Trade Mission to Egypt

Mr. Hassanien Muhiddin, Executive Director of the SBDC, coordinated arrangements for the delegation for many weeks with their Chamber counterparts in Egypt and with the Egyptian Embassy in Baghdad to organize the delegation.
