Who We Are?

Najaf Small Business Development Center (COCN) established in Jan 2009 under the Civil Society Law with Iraqi Chambers of Commerce Union. The SBDC will focus on serving the needs of the business community in general, the fishing industry and the tourism industry in particular with Business Development, Languages, Computer Skills and Hospitality Management Courses.

Najaf is a city about 160 km south of Baghdad. Its estimated population in 2008 was 900,000 people with an annual influx of 2 million visitors to the holiest shrine in Shia Islam. It has over 158 hotels, with in excess of 1,400 artisans, small business units, and an agricultural hinterland.
